Following research and engagement programmes, priority needs of the Siyancuma Local municipality have been identified in order to develop a robust and impactful community development programme, that is well informed and addresses the poor educational system; health infrastructure improvement requirements; up-skilling youth and youth development; agriculture and agro-processing support; and Infrastructure upgrading.
“As we establish our programme, for the benefit of our beneficiary communities we will seek to build partnerships for development and the projects will augment existing initiatives to maximise impact,” explained Tshepo Kgoloane, Community Operations Manager.
Boikanyo Solar’s Socio-Economic Development and Enterprise Development Flagship Projects will account for 80% its development funds, whilst the additional 20% committed to will be made available for community welfare, fondly known as the ‘Heart and Mind/Goodwill’ initiatives. This principle reflects a focus on long term sustainable projects while recognizing that the immediate needs of communities.
